About Vrnda

Something very significant happened!
My family was planning a 4 day 27 mile backpacking trip to Mount Jefferson, Oregon  in  two weeks,  I had significant hip pain and thought I might be left home alone.

My son Anu was certifying with Pete Egoscue at that time and they looked at my pictures, gave me a sequence of exercises tailored for me…and within a few days I noticed improvement and in a week I started packing.

I did posture exercises everyday on trail and was able to complete the hike pain free. That’s when I knew I was going to pursue a certification in this modality and share this work with others.

Vrnda has taught yoga for over 25 years to adults and children of all ages. Having healed herself of the need for recommended spinal surgeries using yoga in her twenties, she learned first hand the therapeutic benefits of yoga – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually and dedicated herself to being both a student and teacher of the practice. Having traveled to India, Vrnda embarked on a journey that lead to initiation into the path of Bhakti Yoga.

As a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, she emphasizes safety and alignment in yoga postures to maximize the benefits of the poses and use of props to meet individual needs and aspirations. Vrnda’s teaching offers a foundation for numerous styles of yoga and movement practices.

Vrnda’s goal is to meet students where they are, encouraging them to explore their potential mindfully, while respecting individual capacity. She weaves humor, mindfulness practices and the philosophy and history of Patanjali’s 8-fold system of yoga into her classes, reminding students to consciously bring yogic wisdom into daily life.
